A Rising Tide for Tourism and a Sea of Opportunity at SookePoint

For those of us at SookePoint, perched at the edge of wild Pacific beauty yet connected to one of the country’s fastest-growing destination economies, this rising tide signals something important – the demand for extraordinary OceanFront Cottages, coastal stays and high-quality resort experiences has never been higher—nor the opportunity greater.

Already guests at SookePoint enjoy exceptional OceanFront Cottages designed like luxury yachts, unbelievably close to the sea. We now have a Development Permit for our Southwest Tip of Canada Pavilion allowing it to be anchored on rock just 1-metre horizontally from the ocean, but safely vertically above.

This is where we are working on plans for our Oceanfront Convention and Wedding Facilities, Surfside Restaurant, and an exceptional Nordic Spa with steaming, baking, soaking, swimming, hot tub, poaching, & massage right beside Orca Alley and the Swirlpool.

When we ask any of the top ten AI programs what the effect will be of adding the amenities above, they all predict that: room rate increases will range from +25-45% and property values will increase from+15-28%.

Whatever the appreciation, we are enthusiastic about how this will further make our storybook location even more enjoyable.

Surrounded by the Ocean on Three Sides

For owners and visitors, it’s not hard to understand the draw we’ve had from the beginning. SookePoint sits on a volcanic headland at the southwest tip of Canada, surrounded by ocean on three sides, and bordered by 3,600 acres of protected Wilderness Park. You can hike along the 10 km Wilderness Park Coast Trail without hearing another voice, have groceries delivered right to the door of your OceanFront Cottage, or be anywhere in Greater Victoria in less than 30 to 60 minutes. Nowhere else combines this level of accessibility, exclusivity, and natural spectacle.

An Accelerating Visitor Economy

According to Destination Greater Victoria, our region’s visitor economy is not just healthy—it’s accelerating. In 2023 alone, Greater Victoria welcomed 4.9 million visitors, generating an impressive $3.5 billion in economic outputs. As demand continues its steady climb, new analyses reveal a clear need for 800–1,200 additional full-service hotel rooms in the near term, and up to 2,000 within the next decade.

Several star categories remain underserved, creating gaps—and opportunities—within the accommodation landscape.

Victoria’s performance this past summer reinforces the strength of this momentum: hotel occupancy surged past 90%, RevPAR growth led the country, and ADR continued to rise, signalling a destination operating at peak desirability.

Demand isn’t only leisure-driven, either. Business events are booming, with 2027 city-wide conference pace already so strong that most April–June dates at the Victoria Conference Centre are nearly sold out—a strong indication that the region is ready for an even larger convention facility.

There’s encouraging news on the international travel front as well. China has reinstated Approved Destination Status for group travel to Canada, and Victoria remains a highly regarded destination for Chinese travellers. This renewed access is expected to add strength to our international market over the coming years.

A Sanctuary on the Edge of the Wild

Stand on your prow deck and look west. Beyond the horizon lies Japan — a silver-blue expanse stretching halfway around the world. Or look east and watch the moonrise over the Wilderness Park, the natural coastline visible as far as you can see. Or look south across the Salish Sea to the towering snow-capped Olympic Mountains rising dramatically into the sky.

Morning light paints the sea in soft pastels; by midday it shimmers like liquid glass; at sunset it erupts into crimson and gold.

On stormy nights, waves detonate against the cliffs below, throwing spray high into the air while you watch safely beside your fireplace, behind your nautical Prow Deck and huge sliding glass wall.

This rhythm — calm, fierce, calm again — seeps into you. It’s not just scenery; it’s ‘Blue Mind’ medicine. People who stay here often describe a kind of detox — not from toxins, but from noise, deadlines, and the invisible pressure of modern life. Within hours, shoulders drop. Breathing slows. Sleep deepens.

That’s what makes SookePoint more than a destination. It’s a reset — a reminder that life can be both thrilling and tranquil at once.

OceanFront Cottages: Design That Embraces the View

Every OceanFront Cottage and Yacht Suite at SookePoint is designed to dissolve boundaries between inside and out. Walls of glass slide open to decks suspended above the surf. Interiors blend soft natural woods, warm stone textures, and coastal tones that mirror the sea and sky. It’s luxury that doesn’t shout — it whispers. Every detail feels intentional yet effortless, so comfort amplifies rather than competes with nature’s drama. Even on the wildest nights, you’re cocooned in warmth and sound — the steady percussion of waves becomes your heartbeat.

From Confinement to Connection

In cities, we often live by clocks, grids, and notifications. At SookePoint, Ocean Cottage Resort, time moves with the tide. Here, connection replaces confinement. You wake to the sound of surf, share breakfast with a view that never repeats, and spend evenings under constellations so clear they look newly invented.

Neighbors wave from decks; sea lions bark from the kelp beds below. It’s a community of people drawn by the same desire — to live closer to what’s real. Even if you rent your suite part of the year, you remain part of that community. Every guest who visits helps sustain local trails, tours, and small businesses. It’s a cycle of sharing that feels good in every sense.

Why It’s a Rarity Worth Protecting

Across Canada, few developments like SookePoint could ever be approved again. The combination of oceanfront access, individual ownership, legal nightly rental zoning, and immediate proximity to marine wildlife and wilderness is extremely rare. And there is nowhere else that compares with SookePoint.

In an age where almost every coastal region is tightening restrictions, SookePoint stands as a legacy community — a place where freedom, beauty, and practicality coexist. Owning an OceanFront cottage here means holding a piece of geography that’s finite by nature and timeless in spirit.

Does Your Crystal Ball Give You the Freedom to Choose?

Whether you live here full-time, visit seasonally, or simply let others share it when you’re away, SookePoint Ocean Cottage Resort offers something money alone can’t buy: choice. Choice to wake to wild horizons. Choice to turn the ocean’s rhythm into your own. Choice to let your home by the sea support you in return. Because at SookePoint, ownership isn’t just about property — it’s about possibility. A Smart Lifestyle Choice.

Owning here isn’t just a purchase; it’s an adaptable lifestyle. When markets shift or life circumstances change, flexibility becomes peace of mind. At SookePoint, you have choices:

Use it as your home, your retreat, or your income-producing suite.
Participate in the rental program whenever you wish.
Stay longer — or share more, you decide.

Few real estate models in Canada offer this level of autonomy combined with resort-class support. It’s freedom made practical. And as you can see, sometimes SookePoint is as close as you can get to Mother Nature’s pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
