This Is What It Feels Like to Live on Victoria’s Most Iconic Waterfront

We saw an ad for SookePoint on the ferry when making our first visit to the island (Tofino) and we decided to drive to Sooke and see the development before heading home Toronto. We had our tour and wonderful conversations with the sales team. For us it would be an investment and then our retirement spot. We took possession January 2020 which may not have been the best time to have destination rental however we turned it in to an amazing experience and drove out in May 2020 and stayed 5 weeks. We’ve now driven from Ontario 4 times for extended visits. SookePoint to us is magical, we love the views and wildlife and how turnkey it is for us. It is a dream come true for me to be so close to the waters that Southern Resident Killer Whales call home and to see them and transient orcas swim by. And, yes it does pay for itself with rental income!

Finding this ocean-side cottage has been a dream come true for our family. Paul, Kevin and I first went to SookePoint Ocean Cottages for a vacation.

We went to the show room one day..where we met the wonderful and fabulous Joann!

She toured us around the site and showed us all that was going on and all the amazing things happening at this incredible ocean paradise.

We actually were going to buy 2 other units….but then unit 16B 2BR became available…and we were hooked…the ocean views alone where just incredible..the design and layout of the suite was perfection!..and Joann knew we would love it.

This place is really a little bit of heaven…you open your retractable sliding doors, and the ocean breeze blows in and the sound of the waves…just puts you at peace and calms your heart as the sunshine beams in on you…not to mention all the wonderful water wildlife you can experience as well.

SookePoint Ocean Cottages is really nothing like anything we have ever experienced.

Life is short, so go for a lasting lifetime experience…you will never regret or forget!

It was a calm and early August morning well before sunrise and our border collie was restless. Returning from our walk, all I could hear was splashing, blowholes and breaches. Below us and set against the pink hue of sunrise, over 70 orcas slowly swam past SP. We later discovered it was 72 of the 74 whales from the southern resident pod.  What a place to call home.

We were visiting the area and not really looking for an investment but fell in love
with Sooke Oceanfront Cottages and Sooke with the trails, beaches, natural beauty, and availability of endless active
adventure.

In looking at the development, and as builders of several homes on challenging and
unusual sites, we admired the long-term vision and attention to detail of the cottages. The option for short-term rental supplemental income is a bonus. We are looking forward to watching the progress on the resort and enjoying this beautiful area.
